Baijnath

Bagnath Temple
Bagnath Temple situated in the heart of Bageshwar city is named after the famous sage Markandeya. This temple literally translates to The Tiger Lord, made from joining the hindi words, ‘bagh’ meaning tiger, and ‘nath’, the hindi word for a higher celestial being. Sunderghunga Trek
This place, famous as the valley of beautiful stones, is located in the Pindar region. The length of this picturesque trek is around 54 km. To reach Song one has to travel about 36 km from Bageshwar. The route after that is Song to Loharkhet, Loharkhet to Dhakuri, Dhakuri to Kathi and then Khati to Sunderdhunga Glacier. Both the treks (Pindari Glacier and Sunderghunga Glacier) has a common route till Kathi after which it diverges.
Pindari Glacier Trek
These are 5-15 day treks to about 15,000-16,000 ft, complete with tents, porters and guides. The campsites are in scenic locations, far away from regular rest houses. In the Kumaon hills, tourists can trek from Munsiyari to Milam Glacier and Nanda Devi National Park. Pindari glacier lies in Chamoli district of Dev Bhoomi, Uttarakhand at an elevation of 3,627 meters above sea level. With snout 6 meters high and 2.5 meters wide, Pindari glacier is 5Km long. Pindari glacier flows upto 3Km long with 300-400 meters width from the snout and crest. Pindari river flows to meet Alakananda river at Karnaprayag in Pauri Garhwal district.
