Popularly known as ‘Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand’, this hill station is located in the lap of the Himalayas at an altitude of 2600 meters. Joshimath has located 114 km from Rudraprayag. It is a small town in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand, India. Oak and coniferous forests surround the beautiful town and offer a spectacular view of the mountain peaks of Doonagiri, Nanda Devi, Hathi Parbat, Neelkanth, Bithartoli, and Kamet. People visit Joshimath both as a pilgrim spot and as a tourist spot. You can engage in multiple activities once in Joshimath. Visitors can visit Augustmuni, one of the best places in Rudraprayag, in a small town in the district. Famous for Agasteshwar Mahadev Temple, which is dedicated to Rishi Agastya, this town is situated at a height of 1,000 metres, on the banks of the Mandakini River, and is known to be the place where Rishi Agastya meditated for several years. Someone has carved out the figures of Gods and Goddesses on the stone of the temple here, making it of archaeological significance. Many devotees come and pay homage to God to celebrate the major event of Baisakhi by hosting a large fair.


Visitors can visit Kedarnath, one of the most important shrines of Lord Shiva, in Rudraprayag. Koteshwar Temple
