It is customary to worship Goddess Chandraghanta Devi on the third day of Chaitra Navratri Puja. She rides a tiger and holds trishul, mace, sword and kamandal in her four left hands and lotus, arrow, bow and chanting rosary in her four right hands. It is said that his fifth left hand is in Varada Mudra, and his fifth right hand is in Abhaya Mudra. The meaning of name Chandraghanta is “one who has moon in his forehead”. Worshiping them brings many blessings.
The puja is started by bathing the idol of Goddess Chandraghanta in Kesar (Saffron), Ganga Jal (Holy Water) and Kevada (Flower Water) and placing it on a wooden table.
